This past Saturday, greatness was in the building! Over the weekend, I had the chance to emcee an amazing event put on by Under Armour, Champs Sports and Power 99. And that greatness I’m referring to is none other than the Atlanta Falcons’ superstar wide receiver, Julio Jones. Jones, who was one of Under Armour’s first athletes to sign an endorsement deal back in 2011 with the company, made a stop at the Champs Sports inside the Christiana Mall in Delaware to promote the brand new “Armoury At Champs Sports.” Just think of having a first-class lounge setup while you’re choosing which color Curry’s you want to purchase. That’s what “The Armoury At Champs Sports” looks like.
Power 99 set the scene by sending the number one Philly radio DJ, the legendary DJ Doc B, and provided amazing giveaways. The giveaways included Drake and Bad Boy family reunion tickets and Atlanta-Philly tickets when Jones comes back in November at the Linc. That was enough to get everybody’s attention, for sure! Below is a rundown from the day’s events as well as a quick one-on-one with Julio Jones about the NBA Finals!
The pre-promotion was in full swing with this event as the line began to form as early as 9 A.M.! Everybody was excited to meet Julio!
Of course, the crowd went nuts when he walked in Champs Sports and headed straight to the back to get suited up in all of Under Armour’s latest gear!
Live events are always what puts a smile on my face. The main reason? Because you can put smiles on other peoples’ faces! All I need is a mic and some Under Armour giveaways!
Power 99’s own DJ Doc B had the crowd going all afternoon long. One of the many highlights from the crowd was this lil’ man dancing and bringing down the house!
While I had Julio selecting a few winners for the grand prize [Battle of the Birds, coming to the Linc this fall. Stay tuned.] I decided to get his take on the NBA Finals Game 7… who you got, Julio!?
As you can see from the above videos, it was a great time that was enjoyed by all… including Jones himself! He stuck around well after his slotted appearance time to meet with anybody and everybody that wanted a pic with the number one wideout in the NFL.
