NHL free agency also began with a bang on Friday at high noon, and it took about an hour for the Flyers to lock in their first big free agent signing.
While not a huge name, winger Dale Weise is said to have signed with the Flyers on a four-year deal, $9.4 million deal.
Not sure what is or isn't out there, but Weise's deal in PHI is four years, $9.4M total, which if my feeble math is right, $2.35M AAV.

Michael Del Zotto, who is still a Flyers, welcomed him with open arms.
@daleweise22 welcome to the fly guys. @NHLFlyers. #reunited

Weise would be the type of role player Ryan White was, who doesn’t figure to be back with the Flyers.
UPDATE: The Flyers have also signed veteran forward Boyd Gordon.
#Flyers also announced a deal for forward Boyd Gordon, who played 65 games with the #Coyotes last year.
