The Phillies bullpen has mostly been a strength for the team this season with the exception of the last two nights. Following extra inning losses to the Marlins two nights in a row, ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick revealed today that the San Francisco Giants have a “top scout” at the Phillies-Marlins series monitoring the back end of the bullpen.
#SFGiants are blanketing the reliever market. They have a top scout at #Phillies series monitoring Jeanmar Gomez and David Hernandez.

Hernandez has pitched 44.2 innings and has a 4.43 ERA. Crasnick suggests Hernandez is a fallback option for the Giants.
Probably more of a fallback option. He's been a home run dispenser. But he does have 56 K's in 44 innings. https://t.co/seRiclhHQd

The Phillies’ closer has 25 saves in 28 opportunities and boasts a 2.82 ERA and has a WHIP of 1.142 this season.
Niether Gomez nor Hernandez is a must-have for the Phillies right now, so if they can make a trade to help their team down the road, I’m all for it. They also have Hector Neris and Edubray Ramos ready to step in should the Phillies part with Gomez, Todd Zolecki suggests.
Maikel Franco. Tommy Joseph. Aaron Nola. Vince Velasquez. Those are the only four players right now I’d consider off the trade market for the Phillies.
You would trade Odubel?
Jerad Eikhoff and Odubbel Herrera are probably off the table, no? Especially if Tommy Joseph is…
Yeah, you’re right. Brief lapse… I wouldn’t trade either of them. I’d like to think Matt Klentak thinks the same.
