Eagles Sign WR Deon Long

The Philadelphia Eagles signed wide receiver Deon Long to the 90-man roster Friday.

The 25-year-old was a 2015 undrafted free agent out of Maryland and has been cut by the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams prior to joining the Eagles.

Here is a scouting report on Long from NFL.com.

Strengths- Good foot quickness. Hits top speed quickly. Gets desired release off the line of scrimmage. Has strong hands. Attacks the ball and can make contested catches. Adjusts to the ball mid-air and finishes the catch. Survivor. Spent time at three FBS schools, a junior college and missed 2013 with a broken leg. Scouts like the talent and say production was hurt by quarterback play in 2014.

Weaknesses- Has below-average long speed for “X” receiver. Lack of consistent effort and desire as a run blocker. Gets only average separation at top of routes. Hand usage needs work both off the line and into routes. Coaches have questioned his practice habits and maturity in the past. Must prove he wants to put in work in film room and on practice field.
