Will Lane Johnson get off without penalty or is he a Lane Duck?
The Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Johnson is facing a 10-game PED suspension and his agent Ken Sarnoff released a statement on the matter Tuesday.
1. We are aware that a member of the media has started a rumor that Lane will be suspended for a PED violation.
2. Lane has not been suspended and any report to the contrary is false.
3. Nonetheless, we will not comment on my client’s protected health information.
There’s nothing false about his statement, Johnson has technically not been suspended yet and will appeal, according to Ian Rapoport. Johnson told Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer that he tested positive for peptide. Here’s what Glazer said:
“Just heard from Lane Johnson, says he took an amino acid that was approved but tested positive for peptide. Fighting it as well as company. You’re responsible for what goes in your body but he insists it was approved. Waiting on B sample.”
We’ll see about that B sample. If that tests positive too, I don’t see how Johnson can win this battle.
