The future is bright for Philadelphia.
The four major sports teams are taking the right steps in an effort to create championship caliber teams. As a die-hard Philly sports fan, I couldn’t be happier for the future.
However, I’m more ecstatic for that fact that when the Sixers are competing deep into the NBA playoffs, the Phillies are one strike away from the World Series, the Eagles are a last-second field goal from the Super Bowl, and the Flyers are battling the Penguins in a decisive game seven, Philly Influencer will be the go-to source for news, opinion, analysis, and the overall best coverage of Philadelphia sports as well as the City of Brotherly Love, as a whole.
I’m thrilled and honored to join the Philly Influencer team as it embarks on the second year of existence and enter a crucial time in its growth. I’d like to thank Founder Sean Brace and Editor-In-Chief Nick Piccone for adding me as a sports writer and believe that I fit the PI mold.
Not only am I a Philly sports fan to the bone, I have experience in sports media across all platforms. My previous stops include writing for Section 215 and Inside the Iggles, both part of the FanSided Network. Additionally, I have covered every sporting event from little league baseball to the NCAA Division I Wrestling National Championships. I’ve interviewed hundreds of athletes, most notably, Olympic Gold Medalists Marty Nothstein and Bruce Baumgartner as well as NFL Hall of Famer Andre Reed and former NFL player and Executive Matt Millen.
My career began at age 15 when my first article was published. It blossomed from there to where I served as Sports Editor of the campus newspaper, Sports Director of the campus television station, and Sports Director of the campus radio station, during my time at Edinboro University. While serving in those roles, I composed hundreds of articles, called hundreds of sporting events, and hosted hundreds of sports-talk shows.
With so much on the horizon for PI and Philly sports, you can surely expect a lot from me. I plan to contribute to podcasts and videos for the site as well as contribute to Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers coverage. Additionally, I plan on bringing a minor league report to PI with coverage of the farm systems of both the Phillies and Union.
Again, I’d like to thank Brace and Piccone for the opportunity and I can’t wait to connect with all the readers. Feel free to follow me on Twitter: @tylertrumbauer.
Good Luck brotha!
