The Philadelphia 76ers catch all the wrong breaks.
Literally.
Sixers forward Ben Simmons rolled his right ankle during the final scrimmage of the team’s Training Camp at Stockton University on Friday and tests later revealed he suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot.

Ducis Rodgers of 6ABC is saying that it’s being “floated around” that Simmons will miss eight weeks and may need surgery.

The Sixers just announced further medical evaluation and treatment options are being considered before a timetable on Ben Simmons is issued.

Howard Eskin reported that Simmons’ weight gain might’ve been a reason why he suffered a fracture.

Foot issues, of course, have been a huge problem for another Sixers lottery pick, Joel Embiid, who has missed his first two NBA seasons after undergoing multiple surgeries on his right foot.
Philadelphia opens up the regular season on Oct. 26 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
