The prize for winning the not-so-competitive kicker competition against Cody Parkey this training camp is not just the starting kicker position, but it appears a longer contract is part of it was well.
ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates reported early Wednesday morning that Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis signed an extension with the team.

The Eagles later confirmed the report via Twitter.

The 27-year old Sturgis finished the 2015 season strong after taking over for Parkey. The former Miami Dolphin converted 18 of his 22 field goal attempts last season and made all, but two extra point attempts. The two he missed were the first two PAT attempts of his Eagles tenure.
