There’s been a lot comparisons made between Dorial Green-Beckham and Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery lately.
They’re both tall and physical. They’re both athletic, have great body control and are strong at the catch point. And neither ran a scintillating 40-yard dash time.
Green-Beckham admitted to Penn Live last week that he studies other tall and physical wide receivers in the NFL, including Jeffery.
“It’s good for me to see players who are like me, because then I know how to succeed and what kind of things I can do,” he said. “Jeffery is definitely one of those players I look to.”
Green-Beckham takes what he sees from those other wideouts and tries to implement it into his own arsenal. Here’s what he had to say about Jeffery.
“Alshon, he’s a guy that with his size and speed, I can sort of play like him,” he said. “I feel like I can bring to our offense what he does in Chicago.”
Jeffery, like Green-Beckham, didn’t have an inspiring rookie season, but bounced back with a huge sophomore campaign, catching 89 passes for 1,421 yards and two touchdowns.
DGB hopes to follow suit.
