During last night’s 4-2 USA win over Canada in an exhibition game before the official World Cup of Hockey tournament starts next week, USA’s Ryan Kesler took Canada’s Shea Weber hard into the boards with a shoulder check. Team Canada wasn’t happy and jumped Kesler almost immediately. Watch the hit and ensuing melee below.
Kesler was given a five-minute major for boarding and was also ejected from the game, but that didn’t seem to help Canada at all. The teams play again tonight in Ottawa.
