Three starts into his career, nobody’s enshrining Carson Wentz into Canton just yet.
Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward, however, thought the Philadelphia Eagles’ No. 2 overall selection played like a “freakin Hall of Famer” during Pittsburgh’s 34-3 loss to the Birds.
“He played like a freakin’ Hall of Famer,” Heyward said via ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. “I don’t know how many passes he missed, but he managed the game, got the ball to his receivers, got the ball to the running backs. We just have to get a lot better.”
Wentz threw for 301 yards with a pair of touchdowns on 23-of-31 efficiency Sunday.
He’s completed 64.7 percent of his passes for 769 yards for a quarterback rating of 103.8. He has five touchdowns and still no turnovers on the season and has the most pass attempts without an interception to start his career.
Impressive stuff so far.
