To say Halapoulivaati Vaitai struggled on Sunday is a massive understatement.
Ryan Kerrigan made mincemeat of the rookie fifth-round right tackle on Sunday, posting two of the Washington Redskins’ five sacks during a 27-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
To his credit, Big V talked about his performance after the game and admitted he needs to work on a lot of things.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson did help him out more in the second half with chips and double teams, but I believe a switch needs to be made for next Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. He just doesn’t seem ready for the speed of the game at this time, and it’s not going to get any easier.
And that’s not entirely his fault. He’s a rookie.
