Per a report from Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Sixers center Nerlens Noel will miss 3-5 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday.
The news of Noel’s injury and pending surgery came yesterday.
According to Pompey, Noel will undergo a 10-minute surgery in New York on Monday. He then will need to miss three to five weeks of the season for rehab.
Noel only played in one preseason contest, which was back on Oct. 4, where he suffered a left groin strain.
The Sixers open the 2016-17 regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 26 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to Pompey’s timeline, Noel would return to the team on Nov. 14 against the Houston Rockets, at the earliest, missing a total of nine games.
