Malcolm Jenkins has been a fan favorite here in Philly ever since he signed with the Eagles in 2014. He does community outreach, is smart and, of course, really good on the football field.
So it doesn’t surprise me that Jenkins is one of five NFL players that will visit Capitol Hill tomorrow to “discuss police brutality and race issues with members of Congress, including a possible meeting with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan,” according to ESPN.
Detroit Lions wide receiver, Anquan Boldin, was prominent in making this happen, saying, “all guys who are well-respected in the league and who have the same goal as myself.” Andrew Blejwas, which ESPN touts as an associate director of marketing for The Nature Conservancy who also advises professional athletes on how they can have more influence in their communities, organized the meetings.
