Paul Turner or Aaron Grymes Could Fill the Eagles’ Final Roster Spot

The Philadelphia Eagles still need to fill Josh Huff’s roster spot and a couple preseason heroes were mentioned by head coach Doug Pederson on Wednesday.

“We’ve got some guys we’re evaluating on our practice squad,” Pederson said. “You know, Paul Turner, Aaron Grymes. We don’t have to make a move right now. There’s no hurry.”

Turner had an unbelievable camp and preseason, literally catching every ball thrown his way. He’s only 5’11 and not considered a burner, but has great hands and can make plays in traffic. The undrafted Louisiana Tech product Turner led the preseason with 17 receptions to go with 165 yards and a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Grymes, who spent three years with the Edmonton Eskimos in the CFL, was having a tremendous Training Camp and preseason prior to the AC sprain he suffered in the Eagles’ 17-0 preseason Week 2 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Grymes made a ridiculous diving interception in the back right corner of the end zone in that Steelers game, the play that caused the injury. Grymes didn’t make the initial 53-man roster or practice squad, but was brought onto the practice squad following the season-ending injury to Ron Brooks.

Pederson and vice president of football operations Howie Roseman both said last week that the Eagles would make a signing prior to the Giants game but they never did.
