There was a time when Carson Wentz wasn’t supposed to play a down in 2016. He was slated to be the No. 3 quarterback behind Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel.
But then Bradford was traded to the Minnesota Vikings before the season and it changed everything.
Now Wentz is on pace to set the Philadelphia Eagles’ franchise record for pass attempts in a season. Donovan McNabb set the all-time mark in 2008 with 571. Wentz has already thrown the ball 564 times this season. Barring an injury in the season finale Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, he is set to shatter that record.
What a crazy turn of events!
Wentz commented why being able to play this season has helped in his development during his press conference Wednesday.
The experience Wentz has gotten this season can’t be understated. We’ll see if he can take a huge leap forward next season.
