No Brandon Graham?
Really?
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and tackle Jason Peters were named to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday.
Cox is making his second consecutive Pro Bowl, while Peters is going for the ninth time and seventh as an Eagles. Cox has 6 1/2 sacks on the season despite going eight weeks at one point this season without one, trailing only Geno Atkins, Aaron Donald, Gerald McCoy and Leonard Williams for the NFL lead among defensive tackles.
It’s an honor. Cox said in a statement released by the Eagles. “It was just surprising with the year I’ve had, the ups and downs, that I made it. I just kept pushing. We were trying to get this team in a better position to make it to the playoffs. At this point, we’re officially eliminated from the playoffs, so I’ll look forward to going to the Pro Bowl and getting a chance to compete again.
Peters has started all 14 games and has provided consistency all season long.
It just humbles me,” Peters said. All the hard work that you put in through the offseason and throughout the season pays off. That’s the individual goal and all the work that you put in to get that honor, and that makes you feel good.
Graham is the bigger story here, however. I believe he’s been the best player on the Eagles this season in his transition back from a 3-4 outside linebacker to a 4-3 defensive end. He has 5 1/2 sacks on the year, but it’s been his ability to set the edge in the run game and showing off his high motor making plays down the line and chasing ball carriers down the line which has been very impressive.
He got snubbed.
Here are the alternates.
