Seth Joyner Goes in on Doug Pederson’s Lack of Adjustments

Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner is never afraid to speak his mind and while he does acknowledge that quarterback Carson Wentz is going through some struggles, head coach Doug Pederson isn’t helping his No. 2 overall pick out either.

Joyner claims that he’s struggling to make adjustments, via CSN Philly’s Postgame Live show following the Eagles’ 32-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

I agree with Seth.

I kept hearing all offseason how Pederson has this long and extensive playbook, how he has all these variety of formations and concepts, yet we keep seeing the same calls and same route combinations. He wasn’t supposed to be as predictable as Chip Kelly was.

With first-year players come growing pains, but Wentz hasn’t steadily gotten better, he’s regressed. That makes me point at the coaching staff. He’s got two former quarterbacks in Pederson and offensive coordinator Frank Reich mentoring him. He has quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo. Wentz continues to have the same mechanical problems and there’s been no progression in fixing them.

That’s on Doug.
