Flyers Win the Best Game of the NHL Season So Far

What a game.

WHAT A GAME!

Last night, the Flyers took on Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers at the Wells Fargo Center in one of the best games of the NHL season to this point. The subplot of McDavid vs. Brandon Manning took center stage after the game, but in this post, we’ll focus on the game itself.

We’ll have more on McDavid’s beef with the Flyers, more specifically Manning, a little bit later.

With some back-and-forth early between McDavid and Manning, the crowd was ready to see some fireworks in the first period. That didn’t happen. And McDavid made sure to let Manning know about it.

That was until Mark Streit lit the lamp and opened the flood gates for the Flyers, who scored three goals in the span of 1:12.

Alas, the lead didn’t last too long. The Oilers tied the game shortly after and eventually went ahead 5-3, but the Flyers scored three more in a row, capped off by Michael Raffl’s beautiful goal with 1:29 left in the third period.

The Flyers held on for the exciting victory and now sit in third place in the Metro, two points behind the Penguins and Rangers.
