The Flyers were outplayed for two periods last night inside the Wells Fargo Center, but the Florida Panthers are so hapless and Steve Mason is on a roll that it didn’t matter.
Wayne Simmonds continues to have a fantastic season, netting his 14th goal to tie the game in the first period after Aleksander Barkov put the Panthers ahead, 1-0.
And then he tipped in his second goal of the night, and 15th of the season, in the second period to put the Flyers ahead, 2-1.
But the Flyers continued to bend, then eventually broke against the pesky Panthers, letting Jussi Jokinen tie the game late in the third period to force overtime. It looked like the game would be headed to overtime, but the WOO! gods were smiling down upon the Flyers and Jake Voracek, who ended the game in the final seconds.
Embrace the WOO!, my dear Flyers. Embrace it. Here’s a WOO! for every win they’ve had in a row the last week-plus.
