Just like the foot, the Philadelphia 76ers are going to play it cautiously when it comes to Joel Embiid’s left knee contusion too.
The Sixers announced Monday that Embiid will be out for the game Monday night against the Sacramento Kings and is doubtful for Philadelphia’s first two of its four-game road trip where it is slated to take on the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs. After that, his status for the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons encounters is to be determined.
Medical update:
•Embiid (left knee contusion) out tonight. Doubtful for DAL, SAS portion of upcoming road trip. Status for MIA, DAL TBD.— Philadelphia 76ers (@Sixers) January 30, 2017
The Sixers have won eight of their last 12 games and find themselves five games behind the Charlotte Hornets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. We’ll see how the team responds without their big man if he doesn’t play these three contests.
