The Cavaliers Were Interested in TJ McConnell and the Sixers Said No

TJ McConnell’s celebratory jumping fist pump following his game-winner is Joel Embiid Twitter profile picture. He’s earned the respect of not only the big man, but the city of Philadelphia.

Believe in the hair!

The Cleveland Cavaliers were apparently interested in McConnell’s services a few weeks ago, according to The Inquirer‘s Keith Pomprey. The Sixers said no.

The Cavs’ LeBron James has expressed his anger in acquiring a point guard for the defending-champion Cavs, via ESPN.

We need a f—king playmaker.

I just hope that we’re not satisfied as an organization. I just hope we’re not satisfied. It’s great to have bodies. Obviously, in the playoffs, you go down to what, eight max? And if somebody gets in foul trouble, you go to nine. You’re not playing back-to-backs. You have two days in between. You’re able to lock in.

We’re a top-heavy team. We have a top-heavy team. We top-heavy as (expletive). It’s me, (Kyrie Irving), (Kevin Love). It’s top-heavy.

I’m not singling out anybody. I’m not. Yeah, we won (the championship), but (expletive), you know what, let’s see if we can do something.

I mean, McConnell isn’t a f–king playmaker. He could be a bulldog type like they had in Matthew Dellavedova a few years back.

According to Pompey, Cleveland wanted to send Philadelphia Jordan McRae, who was selected by the Sixers in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft. Mcrae was waived by Philly on Oct. 26, 2015.

I would’ve said no, too.
