Matt Klentak keeps making some under the radar moves this offseason. Today, he’s reportedly signed All-Star outfielder, Michael Saunders.
Rumors have been running rampant all morning, but Jon Heyman finally confirmed the deal.
Saunders has deal with phils. They were talking about 1 year plus option.

Saunders spent 2016 with the Toronto Blue Jays, hitting 24 home runs and knocking in 57. He had 124 hits in 490 at-bats. He did strike out a lot, being punched out 157 times to 59 walks.
He was the Final Vote winner for the All-Star Game. He didn’t have a hit in one at-bat.
Good pick up for the Phillies that doesn’t break the bank.
UPDATE: It’s a one-year, $9 million deal with a club option for 2018.
Sources: Saunders deal with #Phillies one year, $9M with club option. Option worth $11M, can increase to as much as $14M with escalators.
