Over the past year, PokerStars.com has really stepped up their game with PokerStars NJ. There’s no need to leave the house to play poker. Now, if you’re like me and don’t live in New Jersey, you still have to hit the casinos. Which I never mind at all because I actually do enjoy sitting at a table and playing versus sitting on my couch and having no idea who I’m playing. Well, just last week, I took it to another level and went out to the PokerStars Championships in the Bahamas!
It was amazing! A ton of poker players from all over the world showed up at the beautiful Atlantis Resort to take part in what I believe was over 90+ poker events in about nine days total! PokerStars.com rolled out the red carpet for all, not just their sponsored players. From a great room with beautiful, brand new tables to the signage all over the Atlantis complex, PokerStars.com spared no expense.
Something which I learned was the there are Hollywood celebrities who love to press their luck and see what they have against hardcore poker players. Very cool! One of them happened to be Philly’s own, Kevin Hart! Yeah, Hart might not strike you as a guy who could sit down for a few hours and test his luck, but he’s played in a few events! He didn’t win, but he absolutely stole the show! Here’s my one-on-one interview with him discussing all things Philly, poker and Joel Embiid. You must follow Hart on all social media channels! Here’s his Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. He’s also on Snapchat at KevinHart4real.)
Another interview I was able to score was with one of the best poker players out there who happens to wear the PokerStars logo, Jason Mercier. If there’s a tourney, chances are this guy’s in it. And there’s a really good chance he’s cashing in. Just take a look at his final table numbers. We discussed the Championships, Miami sports and the NCAA National Championship game from the night before!
Once again, it was an amazing time put on by all the hardworking people over at PokerStars.com! If you enjoy testing your luck and seeing what you have versus the best, then the PokerStars Championships in the Bahamas are where you need to go!
