Jason Peters will be back to protect Carson Wentz’s blindside.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the 35-year-old and nine-time Pro Bowler Peters will play for the Eagles in 2017.
There was some speculation otherwise, but LT Jason Peters, set to make $9.95M base salary, will be back with #Eagles in ’17. Not a surprise.

Peters, who has the highest cap number going into next season at $11.7 million, was approached about taking a pay cut earlier this month, but Pro Football Talk is reporting that he will not restructure his deal.
Following an injury-plagued 2015 when he struggled in Chip Kelly’s up-tempo offense, Peters bounced back in 2016 after performed a lot more effectively in Pederson’s methodical attack. Not only is he still producing at a high level, he also provides a huge presence in the locker room.
This move was a no-brainer. Peters is under contract with Philadelphia through 2018.
