Ring the bell! As I’m about to type this post up and writing down a few thoughts that I have always believed, the first thing that comes to my mind is do “we” – the Philadelphia sports fans – need our ego stroked any more? And I say, “Hell yeah!” If you have something positive to say, don’t hold back! Because they never do when it’s a negative post. So here it goes.
Last night was perfect. We displayed our party-like enthusiasm from start to finish during the first day of the NFL Draft. I got down to the stage at 2:00 PM and the place was filling in fast. It’s reported that over 90K took in the night’s action live and in person. (Even after you had loser takes filling up our timelines from the likes of Philly Mag.)
What I loved most is that we here in Philadelphia have a good sense of humor. Sure, we hate everything NFC East and especially anything Dallas, but yesterday everybody heard our wrath. From the boos for the commissioner, to anybody wearing an out of town jersey, we had fun booing and joking with all! I loved it. I especially enjoyed watching everybody take pictures with the Cowboys gear and mock it in their own special way. My favorite personal moment was with this Cowboy fan from … D
Now this is perfect… a #Cowboys fan in a cowboy hat…. from where??? #NFLDraft @PHL_Influencer @FOX29philly pic.twitter.com/frAWoPsaeW

Now, trust me when I say this: I feel bad for anybody who gets to host the draft in the upcoming years because the bar has been raised and I’m not sure if it will ever be raised any higher. Every ESPN and NFL Network employee raved about Philly last night. Scott Van Pelt made Philly his “1 Big Thing” on his show and a great take from SVP as well! I also spoke to a member from the audio and visual crew and he told me that last night’s production rivaled “a Super Bowl setup, but had never seen a crowd like this for a Super Bowl.” Hahahaha. Those were his words!
Bottom line, we showed up and crushed the competition last night! As I stated earlier, they always try to keep us down with nonsense posts, old cliché Santa and snowball stories and never forget, THE VET HAD A JAIL IN THE BASEMENT! But because of last night, we now own the card for the greatest sports city in the country.
And kiss my ass if you don’t agree!
Shawn please stop working on weekends it’s making me look bad. Oh wait it’s Friday? I don’t do them after 1 PM either.
