Not that the move surprises me all that much, but Ryan Howard, our beloved first baseman for 13 years, is now signing a minor-league deal with the Atlanta Braves. Howard will report to their extended Spring Training camp in Disney World, (wonder if he gets free admission for the family with that deal?) and will start to strikeout train with the Braves and then make his way to their Triple-A squad in Gwinnett, GA.
Howard was the man. Six straight years of 30+ homeruns and over 100+ RBIs is something I will remember forever. Honestly speaking, I hope Howard makes it interesting. God luck “Big Piece.”
