Not again.
I couldn’t help but think back to when Ben Simmons broke his foot while stepping on Shawn Long’s foot last season, breaking his fifth metatarsal and ending his rookie season before it even began. On Saturday night, it was Markelle Fultz who stepped on someone else’s foot and all of Philadelphia held its collective breaths as another No. 1 pick was carried off the floor.
You can view the injury below. Also hurt on the play was Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, who took Jabari Brown’s elbow right to his nose. It was also Brown whose foot Fultz stepped on.
Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

Thank god it was just a sprain, as ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne would later report

Fultz struggled prior to his injury against the Golden State Warriors, scoring eight points on 3-of-12 shooting to go with two rebounds and an assist. Larry Drew knocked down a go-ahead jumper with 7.6 seconds on the clock and Patrick McCaw was unable to get his 3-pointer to drop at the other end to preserve a 95-93 victory for the Sixers.
