At least one guy on the offensive line unit won’t be practicing with the Philadelphia Eagles anymore. Allen Barbre is gone.
The Eagles initially announced that they released the 32-year-old guard, but it was later revealed Wednesday that Barbre was shipped to the Denver Broncos for a conditional draft choice before that release became official.
Well, what do I know? Somebody WAS willing to trade for Allen Barbre. Denver gives a conditional future pick. Sense is it might not be a 1st

Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich said earlier today Isaac Seumalo will be the Eagles’ starting left guard, so this move wasn’t exactly a surprise. Barbre was the starting left guard the previous two seasons. The move saves $2.1 million in cap space.
Allen Barbre is a pro’s pro. Not only did he help the team with his solid play as a starter at left guard, but his ability to step up and play multiple positions helped us battle through some difficult situations. We had a conversation yesterday and agreed it made sense to allow him to pursue some other opportunities, but the door is open for him to return here as well.
The Eagles released defensive end Marcus Smith about an hour later. The former first-rounder, who totaled 2 1/2 sacks in 220 snaps last year, skipped out on OTAs earlier this summer.
