Markelle Fultz showed encouraging signs in his Philadelphia 76ers summer league debut on Monday night, scoring 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting in 22 minutes to go along with three blocks.
The Sixers went on to lose, however, as No. 3 selection Jayson Tatum knocked down a jumper from the top of the key and Fultz was blocked by Jaylen Brown at the other end on a reverse attempt along the right baseline. The Celtics won 89-88.

Tatum tallied 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting to go with seven rebounds and five steals, while last year’s No. 3 draftee Brown impressed with a 29-point display.
Fultz showcased his silky smooth pull-up game, and recorded an emphatic block where he pinned the ball against the glass.
Speaking of blocks, second-rounder Jonah Bolden recorded four of them. He also had nine points and was 1-of-4 from beyond the arc.
