Hurricane Irma is gaining strength by the second in the Atlantic, and that’s prompted the NFL to move the Week 1 tilt between the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside of Miami. The game might not actually happen at all.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler is reporting that Lincoln Financial Field in Philly and Heinz Feild in Pittsburgh are currently the neutral sites under consideration for Miami and Tampa Bay to play this weekend.
Sources: Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are neutral sites under consideration if Bucs-Dolphins play this week. Decision likely tomorrow.

Earlier, the NFL Network’s Courtney Fallon reported Philly and New Orleans were possible neutral site destinations.
Options for game site: New Orleans, Philadelphia, per source. A lot of people in Davie uneasy about idea of rescheduling on Week 11 bye. https://t.co/14Xupye9jW

The Eagles don’t open the season at home until September 24th against the New York Giants, so getting some local NFL football without having to worry about who wins and who loses would be pretty interesting. Of course, it remains to be seen how many fans of both teams could travel last minute to an entirely different city in the northeastern part of the country. Is it worth it?
My guess is … NFL’s Opening Weekend … it certainly is worth it.
