October has already reached its third week. A month mostly known for the holiday that chillingly chimes in its closing date, the autumnal month signifies so much more. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month around the world. Like many great cities, Philadelphia is always at the forefront of awareness and contribution for many health and social endeavors. From the Philadelphia Eagles’ Crucial Catch promotions to several events, the City of Brotherly Love is always doing its part. Here’s a list of events to that you should highlight on your calendar for the next few weeks:
Saturday, October 21st
Yoga for the Cure: The Hamilton Kitchen & Bar will be hosting a Yoga for the Cure event next Saturday. Starting at 8:45AM, this gathering will have an invigorating class, a breakfast buffet, and more.
Breast Cancer Awareness Breakfast: On the same date, stop by Thomas Elementary School for a Breast Cancer Awareness Breakfast. There will be immersive discussions, fundraising, prizes, food, and plenty of incredible women.
Boobs, Babies, and Bubbly: Riva Health + Wellness will be hosting Boobs, Babies, and Bubbly event next Saturday. This fantastic brunch will feature a specialized workout, food, and drinks.
Sunday, October 22nd
Comedy on the Waterfront: Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar will be promoting breast cancer awareness at this blowout comedy event. Come to this waterfront for this comedy show dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Tuesday, October 22nd
Beau Institute’s Day of Hope: The Beau Institute will be holding its annual Day of Hope to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month. The institution will be offering complimentary 3-dimensional areola/nipple tattooing for any mastectomy patients in need.
Thursday, October 26th
Janney’s Cross Company Happy Hour: It’s time to go to the rooftop when the Janney’s Cross Company Happy Hour takes over the towering Skygarten in two weeks. The “Together We Are Strong” event will have signature drinks, plenty of conversation, and more.
Sunday, October 29th
Philadelphia Rebels, Paint, and the Rink Pink: University of Pennsylvania’s 1923 Arena will be hosting the Rebels, Paint, and Rink Pink event two Sundays from now. This massive charity event will feature breast cancer survivors, game worn jersey auctions, food, drinks, and many other activities.
Tuesday, October 31st
Bartending for the Cure at The Hamilton: Join Olympic Gold Medalist Marty Nothstein and more for a night of celebrity bartending for a good cause. This event will be attempting to raise thousands for cancer awareness and research.
Sunday, November 5th
Bowling for the Cure at Revolutions: This event is in November but is of no less importance. Entertainment hotspot and bowling center Revolutions will be hosting a Bowling for the Cure event. Come out for drinks, food, and to take in all the action.
