The Eagles Are Eyeing a Week 7 Return for Ronald Darby

The injury was horrific.

It made everyone in Philadelphia sick to their stomach, but as it turned out, it wasn’t as bad as it initially appeared.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby is “on schedule” to return from his dislocated ankle he suffered in Week 1 against the Washington Redskins and head coach Doug Pederson stated that the team is eyeing a potential Week 7 return, which would coincidentally be against Washington.

That’s kind of the target deadline, if there is one. But I’m not going to hold it as a hard deadline. I’m not going to put him in a box. These things take time. You saw the replay and you saw the ankle; it just takes time.

Yes it does, and here is the replay.

Pederson also explained how Darby is progressing.

We’ll continue with the rehab this week and get him moving a little bit more. He’s on schedule. But with the severity of the injury, as you saw in the Washington game, it’s just going to take time.

The Eagles’ defense is currently struggling with the quick passing game and that’s what Darby excels out, jumping the underneath routes. The Los Angeles Chargers in their nine possessions last week attempted just four quick passes their first five series and scored seven points. In their final four touches, they drew up 18 quick passes and put up 17 points. Philadelphia has allowed 54 points in the final frame this season, the second most in the league. That comes off the heels of the 2016 campaign where they surrendered just 68 points in that stanza.

The return of Darby will help out with everything.
