Today, a plane registered under Roy Halladay crashed in the Gulf of Mexico. It was unclear who was on the plane at the time, but one person had been confirmed dead. Moments ago, it was confirmed to be Roy Halladay.

The fact that he was a Phillie and gave us an abundant amount of memorable moments is part of the reason we became so close to him. He was one of us, and although he was a Phillie for a relatively short period of his life, he became a Phillie for life. He became a Philadelphian for life. It’s absolutely tragic for a great man, a great husband and a great father to have passed away.
