The defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles found out when they were going to London earlier Thursday morning. Thursday night, the NFL released the rest of the teams’ schedules for the regular season.
Your Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will be opening the regular season at home on Thursday, September 6th. But they won’t be hosting the Minnesota Vikings on that night. Instead, they’ll be hosting the previous year’s NFC Super Bowl representative and team they beat in the divisional round last season, the Atlanta Falcons.
Some highlights:
• Eagles have four other prime-time games after the opener: Week 6 (10/11/18) @ NYG (Thursday Night Football), Week 10 (11/11/18) vs. Dallas (Sunday Night Football), Week 13 (12/3/18) vs. Washington (Monday Night Football) and Week 15 (12/16/18) @ LAR (Sunday Night Football).
• Minnesota visits during Week 5 (10/7/18). That’s also my birthday, and what better way to celebrate it than demolishing the Vikings again.
• Bye week is Week 9 after their London trip.
• Seven of the 16 games are against this past season’s playoff teams: Week 1 vs. Atlanta, Week 4 at Tennessee, Week 5 vs. Minnesota, Week 7 vs. Carolina, Week 8 vs. Jacksonville in London, Week 11 at New Orleans, and Week 15 at the LAR.
• The Eagles will have back-to-back road games in December (Weeks 14 and 15) for the only time in the season.
