Sean Couturier missed Game 4 of the Flyers’ first-round playoff series against the Pittsburgh Penguins after suffering an injury in practice when he collided with Radko Gudas.
Down 3-1 in the series, Couturier returned for Game 5 in Pittsburgh and scored the game-winning goal in the final minutes to extend the series to Sunday afternoon in Philly.
On Sunday afternoon, Couturier was Flyers’ best player on the ice, potting a hat trick and scoring five points, all while playing on a torn MCL. He revealed the diagnosis after the game.
Couturier said he would likely have missed four weeks if it was the regular season, but he won’t need surgery to repair the injury.
Talk about a warrior. Give that man the A next season.
