Former Eagles linebacker and current Cleveland Brown, Mychal Kendricks, was making headlines this morning for things he said about his former Eagle teammates on HBO’s Hard Knocks on Tuesday night.
But hours later, he’s making headlines for very different reasons. Kendricks is facing federal insider trading charges stemming from his time with the Eagles.

U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain announced the charges today. Kendricks and Black-ish writer Damilare Sonoiki have both been indicted on the charges.
According to NBC Philadelphia, “Kendricks made nearly $1.2 million by trading ahead of four acquisition announcements, according to officials.” Sonoiki reportedly received kickbacks from Kendricks which included Eagles tickets. Sonoiki also reportedly set up a bank account that Kendricks could access.
According to the NBC Philadelphia report, Kendricks and Sonoiki used coded language in texts and Kendricks paid Sonoiki cash in person.
