No, it’s not Bryce Harper. Nor is it Manny Machado. However, pick up those frustrated frowns because the Phillies now own the rights to one of if not the best, catchers in baseball. The news started to get interesting in the beginning of the week and now it’s official. The Phillies and Marlins have agreed to terms on a trade that will send All-Star catcher J.T. Realmuto to Philadelphia.
Philadelphia and Miami are in agreement on a trade that would send All-Star catcher J.T. Realmuto to the Phillies for catcher Jorge Alfaro, pitching prospects Sixto Sanchez and Will Stewart, and an international bonus slot, league sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.

This is a monster deal that solidifies the Phillies’ backstop for many years to come. Realmuto is in his prime and has long been an afterthought in Marlinland. Now he gets to play for a contending team in a hitter’s ballpark that will only help his résumé grow.
Rhys Hoskins has already weighed in on the news.

Will this move enhance the deal for Bryce Harper? Only time will tell. But, for now, I’m just going to leave this right here!
Possible Phillies’ lineup if they finish the Realmuto trade, and followed up later with the signing of Bryce Harper:
LF McCutchen
SS Segura
RF Harper
1B Hoskins
C Realmuto
CF Herrera
3B Franco
2B Hernandez— Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) February 7, 2019
Look at that lineup! Citizens Bank Park will be party central come April. What a time to be a Philly sports fan……..
