Tonight’s Phillies-Yankees game has been postponed

I’m not sure if we’ll see the Phillies take the field any time soon.

Tonight’s game between the Phillies and Yankees has been postponed.

It’s the second day in a row a Phillies game has been postponed. It was revealed the Miami Marlins, who are the first Major League Baseball club to deal with a COVID-19 outbreak in season, also had four additional players test postive, according to Ken Rosenthal.

That makes 18 members of the club that have now tested positive for COVID-19.

The Phillies and stadium staff were tested for COVID-19 yesterday at Citizens Bank Park. It’s possible even negative tests come up with someone who has the virus, so I’d imagine they’d have to test everyone every day or every other day at the very least for at least two weeks. I can’t imagine the team playing before then, but we’ll soon see what precedent is set.

As of this morning, no Phillies players have tested positive. Of course, that could change within the next two weeks, but it’s good news for now.
