The Daily News‘ Paul Domowitch reported earlier tonight that Jon Gruden is interested in the Eagles’ head coaching gig. And in almost record timing, we have a conflicting report from FOX’s and WIP’s Howard Eskin, who says he texted Gruden and Gruden’s response was that he’s “not interested” in the Eagles’ head coaching job.

If Eskin’s report is true, it could be Gruden saving some face. There’s a chance he sent feelers out to the Eagles and didn’t want anyone to know about it, and now that ESPN has likely gotten word of Domo’s report, they’re pretty pissed. Or, Gruden is seriously not interested in coaching the Eagles. I’m always of the opinion of where there’s smoke, there’s fire. This isn’t the end of this.
