In yesterday’s trending Twitter hashtag game, users were asked to describe a #StateOfEmergencyIn5Words. From “Those weren’t frozen Tootsie rolls” to “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, one of the most unsettling pieces of news that came out was from Ken Kratz – the prosecutor (and villain) featured in the Netflix docuseries Making A Murderer.
Kratz told WBAY he is writing the book “because the one voice forgotten to this point is Teresa Halbach”. After he successfully prosecuted Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey for the murder of Teresa Halbach, you would have thought her side was clearly heard, but I suppose he has more to say.
Here’s a letter released by Avery’s Attorney, Kathleen Zellner, where Kratz attempted again to coax out a confession from Avery last September:

For somebody who left his position in disgrace after confessing to “sexting” the same people he was professionally in charge of protecting, Kratz seems to have an abundance of confidence when it comes to clearing his name. Not to mention he admitted to acting like “a dick” during the entire Avery trial in an interview with comedian Jena Friedman.
If you are a Making A Murderer fan like me, you should think twice about buying his book, if and whenever it is released. Maybe read it in the store before deciding whether or not to purchase. If you can’t find it in the Barnes & Noble Rittenhouse location, it’s probably because I moved them all to the fiction section.

Guy is out of his mind. Scary that there are people like this that have the power and authority they do.
