Yesterday, Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz cleared waivers and there were reportedly two teams interested in Ruiz for the stretch run. Today, he’s reportedly been traded to the Dodgers.
According to SportsNet LA’s Alanna Rizzo, the Phillies will get catcher AJ Ellis and minor league pitcher Tommy Bergjans, and either a player to be named later or cash in exchange for Ruiz and cash.
