Have you ever seen a year muddled with so many injuries? In a week where another two running backs [Eddie Lacy and LeSean McCoy] have hit the shelf, there needs to be more focus on the waiver wire. Handcuffs and waiver adds have become more important than your actual fantasy draft itself. Thankfully, in the day and age of digital technology, we’re able to follow our news consistently and make moves on the go.
The word lock is being used far less frequently nowadays when we consider our week-to-week lineups. Like I have said in previous posts, matchups are becoming the main source of information. The only advice I can give is to spend less time on Instagram and more time on your fantasy app. If you are already following that route and still can’t buy a win, I am sure things will turn around soon.
The world of sports media can be a beautiful thing when all parties are involved and engulfed in a stern debate. As always, I look forward to your opinions and feedback. You can tweet me with any questions and leave your comments below. For my statistical hounds out there I will put last week’s stats in parentheses so you can see how I performed. Week 7 Triple Threat
Marcus Mariota (IND) – It looks like Marcus Mariota has found his stride as he is averaging 38 fantasy points per game over the last two weeks and is starting to run outside of the pocket more often. While running has always been a part of his game, he seemed to back off the rushing attempts in the beginning of the year. He now seems at home with playing his type of offense behind a stellar offensive line. It doesn’t hurt to have a guy named DeMarco playing beside you, either.
Christine Michael (@ARZ) – Thomas Rawls was the guy coming into the season, but Christine Michael has shown to be the heir apparent to Lynch. Injuries have kept the Seattle backfield in motion, but now it has truly found its leader. Forget about those meaningless touches CJ Spiller gets and just focus on the touchdowns Michael is giving you on a weekly basis. This could be the guy you ride with into the playoffs.
A.J. Green (CLE) – Cleveland stinks and A.J. Green will blow up. I know it is Mr. Haden’s neighborhood, but when the rest of the neighbors would rather sit on the stoop sipping coffee, it becomes a chore for a star like himself to get up for the game. Haden may miss the game due to a hamstring injury, which makes Green that much more valuable.
As always, you can stop by my Facebook page (Fantasy Sports Addiction) or tweet me (@TCutillo23) for questions or some nice fantasy debates. I can also be heard weekly via the internet stream live at WENG RADIO every Monday at 4:00 P.M. ET for a weekend sports wrap. But most importantly, you can catch me here at Pi!
For fantasy purposes, all my articles are predicated upon a PPR-based system.
