The Flyers are up there with the Eagles and the slowly climbing Sixers when it comes to promoting their team, and this year they’re doing it again. To further build the anticipation to hockey season, the Flyers begin tonight a slew of events set to run through the first week of the season and end October 17th. The theme of these events is simple – fan interaction. And the Flyers have put together quite a schedule.
For instance, Danny Briere’s gonna be in the area tonight at Night Market on Girard and Frankfort Ave, from 6pm-10pm.
This weekend, Chaddsford Winery and the Flyers Skate Zone in the northeast will have events. Monday, the entire team will mingle with fans at Xfinity Live! But the coolest thing the organization delved up was having Bernie Parent selling us some donuts and coffee the day the Flyers season opens next week. According to the Flyers’ website, “Flyers legend Bernie Parent will be stepping behind the Dunkin’ Donuts counter to serve up coffee and special orange and black Flyers donuts to fans. In addition, fans can also take photos with the Flyers Ice Girls, enjoy special Dunkin’ Donuts giveaways, and enter for a chance to win one of four pairs of tickets to the home opener on October 12.”
Excellent. He’ll be at 11 S Burnt Mill Rd in Voorhees, NJ from 8am-9am next Thursday, October 8th. No word on if Bernie’s sexual escapades stories come on the side, but I’d bank on it.
