We all figured the Flyers wouldn’t be able to sustain a winning streak for the ages, and when their 10-game winning streak was halted in Dallas last Saturday, it was time to start a new streak!
But that hasn’t happened yet. The Flyers then lost to the Nashville Predators on Monday night, followed by a huge win over the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night on a nationally televised game on NBCSN. They had to play once again a back-to-back and visited Newark to take on the Devils Thursday night. It seemed right from the get-go that the Flyers weren’t able to match the Devils’ intensity as they were trying to break a streak of their own – a seven-game losing streak. The Devils netted four goals while the Flyers netted none, and at a few points during the game, line brawls broke out. It was old time hockey! Except the Flyers lost.
Here are complete highlights of the game, the fights, and the zero goals scored by the Flyers.
Here’s to hoping the Flyers can go on another winning streak and soon – the Metropolitan Division is ridiculously good right now.
