Brent Celek has been one of the faces of the Philadelphia Eagles franchise for the last decade, not only on the field, but off of it as well.
But instead of getting a raise, Celek is taking a $1 million pay cut to save the Eagles some cap space, according to a report by ESPN’s Field Yates.
Eagles TE Brent Celek has taken a $1M paycut for 2017, per sources. He'll now make $3M instead of $4M.

Former Eagles guard Todd Herremans, however, disapproves of the gesture.
You give a team everything you have for 10 years and they still want more. Sad. https://t.co/lR2ZBItlwE

It’s tough to argue against his point, although I’m sure Celek has earned more than enough money during his playing career for him to live comfortably for the rest of his life.
Celek was scheduled to make $4 million this season.
