International House will be hosting a Oktoberfest soiree this Friday night. The establishment will be shining a spotlight on all things Bavarian at this celebration of German culture and tradition. There will be sauerkraut, German beers, folk music, live performances, games, and more.

2. Philly Fashion Week

When: Monday, September 18th-Sunday, September 24th
Philadelphia Fashion Week returns this week for another run. The 2017 festivities will be held at various locations but the main attractions will be under the tents at Dilworth Park. There will be several runway shows, galas, a relief concert, and many other exciting activities.

3. Philly Jazz Project Presents: John Coltrane
Where: Various locations
When: Monday, September 18th-Sunday, September 24th
Jazz saxophonist John Coltrane has been celebrated in Philadelphia all week. This weekend the party continues with various concerts, a mural unveiling, jam sessions, art shows, and more events heralding this great musician’s legacy and work. All jazz music lovers should come out.

4. Peace Day

When: Runs through Sunday, September 24th
Peace Day Philly runs from Sunday, September 17th through Sunday, September 24th. Highlighting The 2017 United Nations Peace Day the motto of, “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All” will be reflected all weekend. There will be several engaging activities in the community each day. Look out for musical performances, poetry, discussion panels, festivals, and more.

5. Philadelphia Music and Arts Festival

When: Friday, September 22nd-Sunday, September 23rd
World Cafe Live’s Philadelphia Music and Arts Festival will begin this Friday. The two-night show will provide a full musical showcase of phenomenal and local singers and musicians. The eatery and music venue will have both stages churning out talented performers throughout both days.

6. Art After 5

The Philadelphia Museum of Art offers up a special happy hour endeavor each Friday. The museum’s continual Art After 5 series fuses gallery access, music, cocktails, food and snacks, and live performances. Combo Melaza will be playing lively and energetic salsa music this Friday.

7. The Head and the Heart
Where: The Fillmore Philadelphia, 29 E. Allen St.
When: Friday, September 22nd, 8PM
Folk band and indie act The Head and the Heart will be performing on the Philadelphia Fillmore Stage this Friday night. The “All We Ever Knew” and “Rivers and Roads” singers have released three albums to date. The latest release, Signs of Light, came out in 2016. Come see this great ensemble band that merges harmony and musicianship.

8. Museum Day!

Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day! is this Saturday. Countless museums all over the United States will be offering free access to their galleries and treasured collections. 9. 2017 Philly Cheesesteak and Food Festival
Where: Citizens Bank Park, 1 Citizens Bank Way

The 2017 Philly’s Cheesesteak and Food Festival kicks off this Saturday afternoon. Citizens Bank Park will be laced with the aroma of grilled steak, grilled onions, and cheese all day. There will be dozens of vendors, a Kids corner with face painting and games, a cheesesteak eating contest, live music, food trucks, an appearance by the Phillie Phantaic, carnival games, and more.

13. Conshohocken Fun Festival

14. Philadelphia Ratha Yatra and Festival of India

15. Chinatown’s Mid-Autumn Festival

Asians Americans United presents the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival. This annual event will be front and center this weekend. There will be food, performers, music, Beijing Opera, and a Mooncake eating contest, a martial arts display. At 6PM, there will be a dragon dance, lion dance, and lantern parade that will navigate through Chinatown.

16. Opera at the Mall

The 7th Annual Opera at the Mall spectacular will be held this Saturday night. Opera Philadelphia’s offers up this free opera broadcast. There will be a dazzling screening of Mozart’s, The Marriage of Figaro! This will be a great opportunity to see this wonderful opera classic under the shinning lights of the city.

20. Puerto Rican Festival

Thousands come out each year for the Annual Puerto Rican Festival Parade. Hosted by Concilio, this amazing festival and parade will have over 1,500 marchers. The elaborate cultural festivities will also be broadcasted live on 6ABC. This will be a great collective event embracing great culture. There be performances and vendors on location.

21. Eagles Vs. Giants
Where: Lincoln Financial Field, 1 Lincoln Finanical Field Way
When: Sunday, September 24th, 1PM
After two weeks on the road the Eagles home opener in finally here. The Philadelphia Eagles will be taking on the New York Giants this Sunday. Lincoln Financial Field will be rockling as the fans cheer on their team. Come out and watch the Eagles attempt to move their record to 2-1 and 2-0 in the division. NOTO Philadelphia will also be having an exclusive tailgate this Sunday as well.
