Each week, Philly Influencer picks the best parties, events, and social gatherings the area has to offer. This weekend the city will be bursting with love as Valentine’s Day sweeps the area. If you’re looking for something to do, check out these hot ticket events:
Café Ynez: Chef Juan Carlos Piña has something great planned for anyone stopping by Café Ynez this Valentine’s Day. The Washington Ave BYOB will have plenty of options including a roasted rack of lamb with pimiento romesco, lemon zest, chopped parsley and micro greens.
Gran Caffe L’Aquila: Gran Caffe L’Aquila is going full Verona, Italy with its 10-day Romeo and Juliet themed Valentine’s Day menu . The restaurant will have heart-shaped ravioli, signature pairing wines, Pasta Fagioli & homemade Bigoli Pasta in a Duck Ragu , Valentine’s Day themed gelatos, and more.
Jet Wine Bar: Jet Wine Bar will be having tremendous Valentine’s Day specials. The lineup includes sea scallops, lamb sliders topped with a pomegranate glaze and spicy slaw, charcuterie and artisanal cheese plate, and more. You can pair all of these options with wines that can be sampled in a flight of three for just $14.
Keen: Lombard Street’s new gem Keen will have $30 bottles of champagne on ice and read for all your Valentine’s Day needs. Come try their house-made gnocchi with blush sauce for just $15 or their Lobster Thermidor and flank steak surf and turf selection.
Ocean Prime: Center City seafood and steak dynamo Ocean Prime will have a spread that includes Florida grouper, an 8 oz. fillet mignon with lobster scampi, and strawberry butter cake with vanilla ice cream. The libation of the night will be the “blueberry Crush”. The cocktail is a perfect blend of Buffalo Trace Bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and club soda.
Red Owl Tavern: The Red Owl Tavern wants to put a twist on your annual night of love. The Center City restaurant will be having a murder mystery adventure play out in their private dining room. Come be a part of all the exciting action or partake of their Valentine’s Day specialty menu that includes Pan Seared Branzino, Braised Beef Short Rib, and more.
Rex1516: Rex1516’s Chef Justin Swain will be wowing dinner guests with crawfish crancini, celery root soup with smoked maitakes, salmon with a collard pesto, and more. You can end your night sweetness when you taste their tremendous chocolate cake.
Square 1682: Square 1682 will also fulfilling your sweet needs with their red velvet trifle. To start your night off try the downtown fixture’s splendid beet salad, roasted duck breast, and their amuse offering of sparkling Cava Brut Rosé.
The Twisted Tail: Society Hill’s The Twisted Tail will be having a delicious four-course shareable family-style Valentine’s Day menu today. For $55 you’ll be able to enjoy a savory cheese fondue, Ora King Salmon, Wild Mushroom Velouté, tremendous sides, and more.
Urban Farmer: Urban Farmer not only has a great Valentine’s Day food menu but its also highlighted by tremendous holiday cocktails. They have couples shared mixer called The Purple Heart that is punctuated by Hendrick’s gin, hibiscus. lemon, and prosecco split. Be sure to order a few and pair it with the highlighted dishes of King Crab legs, shellfish bisque, and beef wellington throughout the night.
Sweetheart Skate: The Rothman Ice Rink and the Blue Cross RiverRink will be holding a Sweetheart Skates tonight. Come out to circle around the ice with your date. The Blue Cross RiverRink will have photo booths, chocolates, flowers, and more. Both venues will have food, beverages, and cocktails nearby.
Cupid Is Stupid: Chickie’s and Pete’s in South Philly with be having a Cupid Is Stupid party tonight from 5PM-11PM. The party is free with RSVP and will feature tarot card readings, good bags, drink specials, giveaways, and live music.
Be My Valentine Bash: The famed Stratus Lounge will be hosting a Valentine’s Day speed dating event tonight at 8PM. The singles gathering will have drinks, DJs spinning great music, and plenty more at this trendy mixer.
Singles Day Party: Vango Sky Lounge will be hosting a singles mixer tonight at 8:30PM. This massive Valentine’s Day party will have live music, drink specials, and a jumping dance floor for you to link up with someone new.
Ex Files Story Slam: Punch Line Philly will be hosting the 8th annual Ex Files Story Slam. There will be two shows tonight at 7PM and 8PM. Come hear comedians and acts dish some hilarious stories of love, heartbreak, and the ups and downs of dating.
Valentine’s Day at Clay Studio: The Clay Studio offers up a tremendous date night experience straight out of the movie Ghost. Guest can learn how to make one of a kind clay creations with their loved one.
Spirit of Philadelphia Valentine’s Cruises: The Spirit of Philadelphia will be having Valentine’s Day Cruises all weekend. There will be dinner, drinks, live music, and more onboard the famous liner.
V-Day Vibes at Vango: This Thursday night Vango Sky Lounge will be having a V-Day Vibes party. The party will be free with RSVP all night. DJ HBK will be spinning all the hottest cuts.
Smirnoff Dance Party: This Saturday night Coda will be throwing a Smirnoff Dance Party. The event is free with RSVP until midnight and comes with a complimentary 1 hours open bar. The party will be going from 11PM-3AM.
