Halladay, who passed tragically in a plane crash in November 2017, received 85.4% of the vote; 10% more than the minimum to be inducted to the hall of fame.
Brandy Halladay released a statement on her late husband.

Doc’s former teammates, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins and Cole Hamels spoke on his behalf as well.

Halladay is an 8-time all-star, two-time Cy Young winner, threw a post-season no hitter, threw a perfect game, two-time MLB wins leader, Phillies Wall of Fame inductee and to this day has the thrown the most complete games since 2009. Aside from watching Brad Lidge close out the 2008 World Series, Halladay’s post-season no hitter is the best thing I’ve seen as a Phillies fan. In fact, the MLB Network released a 7 minute oral history of that game.

Halladay was one-of-a-kind; we’re lucky to have had him play here for four years. Congrats, Doc (and the Halladay family) and thanks for the memories.
