Nick Foles is free to go wherever he wants.
Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football operations Howie Roseman announced Wednesday that the team will not place the franchise tag on Foles, allowing him to become a free agent.

There were simply too many moving parts for even Roseman to magically wave his wand and get the Eagles under the salary cap so they could tag and trade Foles. There also wasn’t much leverage. Adam Schefter reported in early February that the Eagles would attempt to franchise tag Foles and trade him to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a third-round pick, but obviously that didn’t materialize.
Eagles expected to franchise tag and trade Nick Foles for a 3rd, according to Adam Schefter. This was news he reported yesterday. Chris Mortensen seems to think that the Jaguars will be the landing spot for Foles. From ESPN Postseason NFL Countdown earlier this morning … pic.twitter.com/eIuWCJh3AQ

The Eagles will receive a compensatory pick in the 2020 NFL Draft for Foles and it’s expected that the NFL will reward them with a third-round selection.
